Sausage & Peperoni Pizza
Ingredients Recipe
Pizza crust
8 ozs Fresh mozzarella cheese
3 ozs Tomato sauce
1 pinch Salt
1 pinch Pepper
1/2 lb Pizza dough
Toppings
1/2 lb Italian sausage
3 1/2 ozs Peperoni (sliced .25 inch thick)
Egg wash
1 Egg white
1 pinch Salt
1 pinch Pepper
1 pinch Garlic powder
Garnish
1 oz Fresh basil
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Using a large non-stick skillet, crumble the 1/2 lb Italian sausage into the pan and brown thoroughly on all sides. Once browned, remove with a slotted spoon to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess fat.
- Slice 8 ozs Fresh mozzarella cheese thinly.
- Wash and chop 1 oz Fresh basil. Reserve to the side.
- Stretch 1/2 lb Pizza dough carefully and evenly across your greased pizza pan.
- Add 3 ozs Tomato sauce, 1/2 lb Italian sausage, 8 ozs Fresh mozzarella cheese, and 3 1/2 ozs Peperoni (sliced .25 inch thick) in that order onto the pizza, evenly covering the entire surface, but leaving a about a one inch crust.
- Add 1 pinch Salt, and 1 pinch Pepper to the top, seasoning to taste.
- In a separate bowl combine 1 Egg white, 1 pinch Garlic powder, 1 pinch Salt, and 1 pinch Pepper. Using a small brush, paint along the outer edges of the crust to improve browning.
- Once the over is pre-heated, place the pizza into the oven and cook until the mozzarella cheese is golden brown, approximately 14 minutes.
- Remove from the oven, add 1 oz Fresh basil, slice and serve immediately.
